My memory.......

Today I was driving to work in silence again.  This is something I do often, because I just NEED silence.  I crave it sometimes.  A few weeks ago, I drove "home" (to my hometown, which is two hours away from my actual home) in silence.  I have NEVER done that before.  I love what happens when I'm driving in silence, though.  I start remembering things from my childhood.  This morning I had a memory from when I was four years old.  Once I got to work, I started making my coffee and doing my usual things.  I thought to myself "I was four when this happened.  Miss P is almost four.  I'm making memories with her NOW that she is going to remember when she's 31 years old."  That's amazing to me.  It reminded me that I need to make sure that I'm making awesome memories with her.  It also reminded me that it's the small things that make the best memories, therefore it is the small things that make these "awesome" memories that I'm referring to.  I will share mine with you. 

Since I was four, it was sometime in 1986.  It was one of the weekends I got to stay the night with my Grandma Donna and Grandpa John.  A lot of you know the house that I grew up in, because it's the one that Will and Travis Fernandez' mom Paula owns.  Yep.  That's the one.  The house my grandparents lived in when I was a child.  I grew up there and I remember every square inch of crazy wallpaper and every square inch of bar space in that kitchen.  The hump in the middle of the kitchen floor?  Yep.  I rolled over that a thousand times in my fisher price roller skates.  I helped my mom and grandma make cinnamon rolls, cookies, snickerdoodles, banana bread, plum jelly, and many....MANY....other things on that counter top. 

My memory today starts with me laying in what I remember as "the yellow flower room".  My grandma loved flowers and her favorite was the Iris.  The bedroom I slept in when I stayed the night was bright yellow and white and full of light.  So, I called it the yellow flower room....haha!  It sat right at the corner of both hallways.  The air conditioning vents were in the ceiling and the whistle they made combined with the clicking and chiming of my grandpa John's clock on the mantle are what ALWAYS put me to sleep at night.  I would always hear the clock chime at 6 am and shortly after that, I'd hear grandpa John roll out of bed and walk down the hallway towards the kitchen.  I knew he was headed there because he always walked over a place in the hallway where the wood made a creaking sound.  Then I'd hear him cough a few times.  Then I'd hear the coffee brewing and then I'd SMELL the coffee.  Oh, and just so you know, this is where my coffee addiction came from.  Not every time, but sometimes I'd crawl out of bed and go sit by grandpa on the little padded stools they had sitting at the bar.  He coined the phrase "coffee milk" (which was more like sugar milk with a smidge of coffee) and would ask me if I'd like some.  Of course, I said yes.  I always said yes because coffee milk was the bomb.  At some point during this particular morning I'm remembering, he turned on Bozo the Clown.  (Sooooooo 80's retro!!!)  I wanted to play the grand prize game so badly that it hurt.  I always told him that I wanted to play the grand prize game....lol.  So he found a ping pong ball and a few random buckets and made my own and from that day on, we played it whenever we wanted to.  There was no fancy game that he bought me at the store for a hundred dollars.  He used a couple of fishing buckets, an empty butter container and a bucket that held ashes from the fireplace during the winter.  I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.  I remember thinking "all of that stuff was hiding in the SAME closet that Snickey Snake and Mister BEAN are living in!!!"  haha.  That's how I know for a fact that I was four.  Snickey Snake and Mister Bean were as real as it got for me and I was just as happy, probably MORE happy, with a few run down items and a ping pong ball as my "grand prize game". 

My memory ended there, but I have these memories all the time.  I'm pretty sure I'm having them to remind me to stay grounded.  To stay simple with the girls.  Even though we have gadgets in our home, the girls don't "need" gadgets.  They have all the gadgets they need outside in the back yard and all around us.  I tested this the other day by giving Miss P and Miss G a couple of my wooden cooking spoons, two pots, one plastic mixing bowl and two spoons.  Not even five minutes later, Miss P came to me with a foot in each pot, the bowl on her head, a wooden spoon in each hand and the spoon stuck to her nose.  She was an "alien" from planet "Sophia".  I don't even know what that means, but they both took turns wearing the "space helmet" and sliding around in "space shoes".  Hopefully I am around for a long time, but if for some reason I'm not, I want both of my girls to have memories of me and our family like I have of my family.  Not just my grandpa, but my entire family.  Because they are the absolute best and I love that they are mine.  =) 

Happenings.

Seriously, I've had this blog how long now and I can't remember to use it?  *sigh*  Oh well.  I guess this day is as good as any to get back on track. 

Well, my last post was chock full of pictures of my growing belly and my barely two year old.  Boy oh boy how things have changed.  I gave birth to my sweet bundle of joy, Miss G, in June.  (I know, I know....it's January.  I've been a little busy raising kids.  lol)  Going from one kiddo to two was a huge obstacle for me to overcome.  In fact, I'm still trying to figure it all out!  ha!  Miss G was just a shock to me because she is SO much different than her big sister.  Breastfeeding was a challenge with Miss P just because she was sooooooo lazy and didn't want to take time to learn how to latch.  I had to MAKE her learn.  LOL!  The lactation consultant I was using called her a "gourmet" eater because she took her time...at least 30-45 minutes per session.  Miss G, on the other hand, was labeled as a "barracuda" eater.  Five to ten minute sessions and she wants to nurse constantly throughout the day if I am home.  I thought I wasn't making enough milk, but boy was I wrong.  I have plenty.  Grossed out yet?  Good.  LOL!

Fast forward to now.  We've been having fun with both of the girls, but getting a steady routine down with two completely different children has been challenging.  Miss P has always been a great eater and sleeper.  I say a great eater....psh....nowadays all she wants is chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, "cranoda" bars, string cheese, anything with 2047384758 grams of sugar in it.....and oh, and any kind of frozen berry.  She asks for these things CONSTANTLY and will not give up until she gets it.  Raising a toddler is soooooo much fun!  (<------sarcasm nbsp="nbsp">It has been tough, but with the help of Mr. Spoon and our handy dandy time out chair, I think we're paving the way to the land of children who mind and don't talk back.  We shall see!!!!  We have a wonderful nanny who always tells me that Miss P will let her know when naptime is and she will proceed to go and put herself in bed and go to sleep on her own.  I have yet to witness this and I seriously think she is lying.  (LOL....j/k Brit!)  Miss P is hilarious, though.  I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would have such a crazy child and I love her so much! 

Miss G.  Ohhhh Miss G.  She's my crazy baby.  She just turned 7 months old and is already wanting to stand up and walk.  A little over a month ago I was at our changing table wiping Miss P's butt (that's another story for another blog) and I had sat Miss G down in her crib.  I then heard her sweet little laugh, so I turned around to see what she was laughing at.  She had pulled herself up and was standing for the first time.   Yay!  I was excited.  She actually stood before she could crawl well.  Now she does both and does them often.  She is starting to crawl fast and will follow me all over the house.  With Miss P we had baby gates and got rid of them after we didn't need them anymore.  I'm not sure what we're going to do with Miss G, but for now she is roaming free!  Miss P slept through the night at 7 weeks and Miss G has no signs of sleeping through the night in my near future.  That's okay though, because I am enjoying having her this small and I am also enjoying the funny, crazy, ignoring, loving, and tender moments I get from Miss P.  Being a momma is not easy and I'm sure every momma will agree, but it is most definitely the most rewarding job I've ever had.

All sorts of things going on!

Hello blog reader(s).  I know at least one person reads my blog, so I may only be talking to you, Melissa.  haha!  A lot has been going on since I posted my picture post.  I guess I should start by updating on the pregnancy.  Here goes!!

Welcome, 6th month!!!

I have been super tired lately.  Mostly because Miss P has been such a handful, but that is a different story that I will discuss in a second.  Obviously, I wasn't as busy when I was pregnant with her, so I didn't do as much as I do now.  With the amount of cleaning, holding, lifting and what not that is required from my precious 2 year old, I have some crazy Braxton Hicks contractions.  I try to take it easy as much as I can....and trust me....you can definitely tell when you walk into my home.  I just figured that my well being is a little more important than toys being put up all the time, my bathroom being spotless or even the dishes being done.  I also let my laundry go....I do it maybe twice a week!!  *gasp!!!*  

Anyway, with only three short months to go before baby G makes her arrival, I've been doing a ton of preparation.  I'm selling some stuff on craigslist that I don't need, donating some clothes to the Salvation Army and the rest I am either sending to ThredUp's concierge or doing the normal ThredUp thing....aka....stuffing boxes full of clothes and getting some moolah for them.  Not much, but every bit helps.  We basically have to clean out an entire craft/sewing/spare/random things room to make room for Paige's things.  I keep having to motivate my hubby to help me with this.  I guess he didn't learn the first time around when three months left in my pregnancy basically meant two weeks.  HAHA! 

As far as baby G goes, I can definitely feel her kicking me, constantly.  She's very strong in there, just like her big sister.  Her heartbeat has been pretty average, ranging anywhere from 147 to 157 bpm.  My next appointment is my 28th week one in which I will be receiving my Rhogam shot.  That just gives me the shivers.  Ugh.  It hurts.  Take your average shot and multiply the pain ohhhh by like.....a million.  That's what a Rhogam shot feels like.  That's what I get for being O neg....lol.  Oh well, I'd do it a hundred times if it meant that my baby was safe.  Well, here's my 6 month photo:

THE RED RING OF DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!

If any of you have an xbox, you already know what this picture means without me even saying anything about it.  For those of you who don't, it basically means your xbox is fried and needs to be fixed.  Unfortunately for MY husband, this means a three week wait.  I was happy about it until he borrowed an xbox from a friend.  Then I got mad because he just cooooouldn't wait for his to be repaired.  That caused all sorts of discussions about facebook, xbox and how they dominate our lives.  Then we decided that it should be the other way around.  Our children should dominate our lives.  Therefore, we are on a two week, possibly longer, hiatus from facebook and xbox.  I can't log into facebook for any reason and he cannot play any gaming console.  This means we can spend more time with each other.  We both like the idea, even if he acts like he doesn't to his friends.  lol.  He still has his poker night with his buddies and I still have Blogger and Pinterest.  When he is gone I spend my time organizing my weekly menu planner, getting my shopping list in order and figuring out what bills need to be paid when.  It has only been four days but I feel like a weight has been lifted off of me.  I've realized that by forcing ourselves to lay off of the nonsense that controls our lives, the more productive we have been.  It's nice.  I'm not looking forward to these two weeks coming to an end, so maybe we can figure out a way to implement this type of structure into our daily lives.  I don't think we should have to shut down my facebook account or his xbox live account, I just think that there should be a cut off point on how much time we spend on these things a week....or even a day.  I don't NEED it in my life, it's just an extra perk I have and I abuse my time management constantly while I surf around on facebook.  That's my husband/wife compromise story of the month.  Hope you enjoyed it.  HAHA! 

Lastly, I will talk about Miss P.  She has been sicky sick with her ear infections.  We've finally had enough of it and we're seeing an ENT at the end of the month.  It is going to take them TWO weeks to get her in.  If I wasn't already in dentistry and able to understand waiting periods, then the two week wait would tick me off.  I mean, my baby is hurting.  She keeps running a temperature and I am forced to keep pumping medications into her.  I just want her to be evaluated, scheduled for the tubes to be placed and be on with our lives.  She always tells me her ears hurt so I have to place numbing drops in them.  Then her fever goes back up when the ibuprofen wears off and I have to pump more of THAT into her system.  I'm just ready for the tubes to be in and for the fluid to drain out of the ears.  On the upside of this, she is still mostly her perky little self.  She has her moments of "I want to hold you, mommy!!" or "I need you, mommy!!!" and that is more than fine with me.  She won't want to hold me or need me forever, so I am taking it in while I can.

Guess who is pregnant!!!!!

Again!!!!  Oh my goodness gracious we are excited.  I tested yesterday and I wasn't even suppose to start until this coming Thursday.  I'm an overachiever though, so I knew I had bought one of the "test 6 days before your expected period" tests.....and boy howdy....I was gonna USE that sucker!  At first I sat there, like most of us do, and watched the little oval window with anticipation.  I saw the liquid (okay, the pee) move across the window and a pink line appeared on the right immediately.  Then I saw it.  A faint pink line on the left.  Whaaaat??  I AM??!?  It was 6:56 am and I woke Mr. B up.  He was less than thrilled that I jumped on the bed with excitement but quickly turned his attitude around when he found out why.  I love that man.  Then I texted my mom.  Then I texted her again.  I couldn't for the life of me fathom that anyone else could be sleeping when I was this excited.  LOL.  So I went and slept for another 30 minutes.  Then Miss P woke up.   

She usually wakes up and cries "mommy!  mommy!" but yesterday she just whined and when I walked in she said "hi mommy!" in her excited voice.  As I went to change her diaper I said "mommy has another baby in her belly, just like you use to be!  Do you want a baby brother or a baby sister??" to which she replied "colors".  LOL!  So I guess she doesn't care as long as it comes out pink or green which are her two favorite, as she would pronounce them, "cuwars".  Gotta love it. 

So all day long I was excited and then it hit me at about 7:00 as I was cooking dinner.  "OMG....I'm PREGNANT."  Then I started thinking "how am I going to pay for two children in daycare, Miss P needs to be potty trained, how am I going to tell my boss since I have a co-worker who is about to have HER baby, what if I have to switch daycares because they might not have an opening for a newborn"....etc etc.  I basically freaked out.  Mr. B did a little too.  Then we decided that we would cross those bridges when we got there.  I do know that I will be having a MASSIVE garage sale in the next 4-5 months.  If you know me and you want some crap....come on over.  I have a junk room/guest bedroom that I need to clear EVERYTHING out of in order to make another bedroom for my "children"!  That sounds so awesome!  My children! 

Well, I guess I will end by showing you guys a picture of my lovely pee stick.  Yes, I took a picture of it.  Everyone else does too!  This line is so faint that you can barely see it.....but it's there!!!!!!!!!!!  So yay!  I'm ready to do this all over again!

Hello everyone!  So, I have been on blog hunts again, except this time I am searching home decor/remodeling blogs rather than crafty blogs.  Mr. B is about to kill me!  haha!  He keeps asking me what I have planned and how long it will take me to complete it.  When I told him that I wanted to re-paint the kitchen and paint/stain the kitchen cabinets, I thought he was going to freak!  His words, and I quote, were "well you just go right ahead and have fun with that."....haha!  He helped paint the living room and kitchen the first time and he told me then that I had better like the color because he wasn't doing it again.  I did at the time, but now I need something new and fresh.  I get bored of the way things look sometimes and I want to move furniture, paint, do big projects....etc.  I'm about to go to bed so this isn't going to be a long blog.  I just wanted to share one that I found.  This lady went into her local thrift store and found some matching side tables (which I have been trying to hunt down myself for over a year).  I have GOT to start seeing the beauty in things because I would have looked right over these.  I think I am going to try my hand at the Salvation Army tomorrow just to see if I can find any hidden treasure.  You never know.  Anyway, all she did was sand these beauties down and paint the wood and the hardware.  I was in love.  It can't be that hard...so I am going to try it out Monday while Mr. B is at work....IF I can find something to paint.  So here's the site!  If you like redecorating sites, you will really like this one.  Goodnight!

Lately.......

Hello all!  I haven't posted in quite some time.  I am still here! 

A lot has gone on since I posted last.  Miss P turned one!  She is actually 16 months old now and acts like she is 16 YEARS old!  She is so busy!  I took a video of her yesterday climbing over the couch...she is a monkey!  She has three favorite television shows that she freaks out about; Dora, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and The Wonderpets.  She has Dora sippy cups and she will point to her and say "Doda".....haha!  She says plenty of words and it is hard to keep up.  Yelling for "momma" seems to be her favorite thing to do lately.  She calls for me when she wakes up, when she's tired, when she has a problem or when she wants to show someone something.  It use to be "daddy" constantly and I thought "when is she going to call for MEEE??!?".  Now that she does.....constantly.......I think "can she just yell for her daddy ONE time???!!!"....haha!  she is also obsessed with shoes and will yell "shooose.....shoooose!" anytime she sees some.  It is interesting to walk through the shoe section in the store because she screams it.  Gah, I love this kid!  She eats pretty much anything you put in front of her and she LOVES mushrooms which is something she OBVIOUSLY gets from her daddy.  ;)


Yesterday was a busy busy day for me.  I had my Mirena removed and cut my long hair to my shoulders.  Yep....that's right....I am ready for another baby AND I have a mom haircut.  haha!  So, I guess all I can do now is just wait until I see those exciting two pink lines.  =)  I had the Mirena placed because I figured we'd wait a while until our next kiddo.  Then I got to thinking how I really wanted to be finished having children by the time I was 35.  Soooo....we decided that we would wait until Miss P was at least a year and a half old before we tried again. 


So what am I doing in my spare time right now?  Not very much....haha!  I am on the hunt for a old timey buffet table with lots of storage, though.  If anyone knows of one or wants to get rid of one, give me a shout.  I want to re-do one and I have the perfect place for it.  I have been having this nagging itch to redecorate my house for about a year.  I am tired of my living room and dining/kitchen area....so I am going to pick a friends brain for some ideas on making those areas my own.  I have tons and tons of ideas.  Here are just a few: 

I want to paint my yellowish wooden cabinets an off white color and put a black stain/glaze on top of it.  I love this look.  All of my appliances are black so I think this would look great!  I also like the granite....and whenever we get our roof fixed (six years from now??  LOL) we will update our countertops.  Until we get the extra cash, the blue laminate stuff will have to do.  *gag!!*

As far as my living room goes, a little paint and creativity go a looooooong way.  First of all, I would LOVE to paint and stain the wood around the fireplace.  It would completely change the look of the room.  After looking at the picture below, I LOVE the 3 mirrors on the wall.  I think I will be visiting Hobby Lobby very soon. 

I also have dreams of having my television hang above my fireplace.  My fireplace is PERFECT for this....we just have a huge projection tv taking up most of the space in our living room.  When Mr. B is ready to get rid of it, we will get one that we can mount above the fireplace.  Anyway, this next photo is a little too clean and bland for MY taste, but I love the wall color and I like how they threw some zebra print in there.  I plan on adding some red and/or green into the mix to give the area some color.  This is kind of what I'm wanting, though. 

I also love incorporating green.  It is hands down my favorite color and probably always will be.  I think this room is so pretty and clean.  If I had it my way, I would be making a gazillion dollars a year and would spend it mostly on decorating my house........okay, AND buying tons and tons of stuff for Miss P. 

Anyway, that's about all the time I have for now.  Hopefully the next time I post, I will have a room completed and photos to share.  We shall see!  Everyone have a great summer! 

I haven't posted since July? haha...I must be busy!

Whaaaat?  It's 2011?? 

I seriously do not know where the time keeps going.  I have tried and tried to keep up with my blog, but with all of the hectic things that life throws my way, it is impossible.  I wish I could go into detail on how crazy my life has been lately, but I have no idea how to put this thing on private (or at least visible to only a few special people) and I don't want the world to know my personal business.  That being said, some things going on lately have really sucked.  I sometimes think that God is testing my strength....because I know that He isn't going to put me through anything I cannot handle.  What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger-----right?  =D 

Well, since I've last updated, my then five month old, now ELEVEN month old has really grown up.  She has four teeth, is walking.....make that RUNNING....all over the place, is into everything, says "da-da" to everyone she sees, has switched daycares once already and is momma's perfect little cupcake.  That is, when she's not screaming because her diaper is dirty or she's tired.  I have her different cries down.  I can always tell Mr. B when she's wet in the middle of the night.  I'll be like "that's her wet cry" or "that's her hungry cry, bring her to me!".  haha!  We mom's are amazing.  I don't mean to toot our horns or anything, (okay, maybe I do) but being a mom is completely exhausting yet we get up every single day and do it.  We cook, clean, do laundry, pick up toys (multiple times a day), give baths, rock babies to sleep, all while somehow finding the time to fit sleeping and bathing ourselves into that mix.  Not to forget the romance with our husbands!  That's the best part!!!  Speaking of romance, kind of, we have decided that we're going to try for another baby in August.  Hopefully we can make a boy this time!  Mr. B needs someone to throw the football around with.  Or race cars.  Or basketball.  Just NO XBOX!  EVER!  haha! 

Well, all that talk about being a mom has worn me out.  It's 10:15 on a work night and that's way too late for me.  =D  I hope everyone has had a fantastic day and tomorrow is THURSDAY!!  One more day until Friday!!!!  Goodnight all!!!

Hello Happy Post!

July is almost over. 

Really?  I mean, WHERE did it go?!?

It seems like yesterday when I was laying in a hospital bed, staring at a beautiful newborn baby.  Now she's sitting here with her tiny little hand on mine and she'll be 5 1/2 months old next week.  She is in awe of how fast my fingers type and now she wants to knaw on my wrist.  I just have to laugh at her because when she bites on anything, all I see is a steady stream of drool.  Yes, this includes my wrist right now.  I am covered in sweet little baby slobber, and you know what?  I love it.  Of course I would though.  If you know me at all then you know that I have a super baby fetish.  It's only natural that I love my own more than my life.  *sigh*  I miss her newborn days, yet I absolutely love how she's growing up and becoming her own little person.  She has such a wonderful personality.....but beware....because she has quite the temper as well!  Haha!  The other day at my parents house, my mom asked her if she loved her Nana.  LOL...It sounded JUST like she said "hell yeah" and my mom will verify this.  We laughed our butts off.  Since she's 5 months old, she is in what I refer to as the "banging" stage.  She hits whatever is in her hand on whatever hard surface she can find.  Sometimes that includes her head, which upsets me because she has scratched herself underneath her eye with a toy.  How?  I'm still not sure, because none of her toys are sharp.  It's just a little scratch...but still.....momma doesn't like it!  haha!  I am still holding out for her first word to be "mommy" but I'm pretty sure it will be "daddy" instead.  That just seems like an easier word for a baby to say first.  It could be either one of those though, since we're both in her face daily reciting our "titles" over and over.  Who knows....her first words may be "Shiloh...NO!"....haha! 


I had my first big sale on my Etsy last week.  I actually made a custom order for a lady in Michigan.  THAT was fun.  Now I know what all goes into shipping a 16" by 20" memory board.  Toooootally not as easy (or as cheap) as I thought it was going to be, but now I have an idea of how much to charge people.  I've been spending what spare time I have making bows and flip flops.  I know that flip flop season is almost over, but I've made some cute ones, so now I just need to get them posted.  Anyway, enough with the boring stuff.  Let's talk about Big Brother...baha. 

Oh.....em.....gee.  I cannot STAND Rachel.  Seriously, her voice annoys me on a level that is unTHINKable.  She's a chemist....um....how?  I think she's psychotic.  No, I'm serious.  She's been in a house with a dude (who happens to be the cutest dude in the house---what are you THINKING Brendan?!?) and she's in love with him already.  Are you kidding me?  How?!?  And she thinks everyone is after "her man".  Why does she keep saying that?  It grosses me out. 

Britney is just mean.  I cannot stand catty girls and Britney is their ring leader.  Well, along with Monet she was.  I'm interested to see how she acts when she's on her own.  I bet she straightens up.  I would like her if she wasn't such a catty witch. 

Okay, I've been working on this blog for three hours now.  It's hard to juggle writing blogs, keeping up with crafting projects, posting items to my online shop, being a wife, cooking dinner, breastfeeding, changing diapers, and doing laundry all while trying to play on facebook.  HAHAHA!  Okay, okay.  I realize that I have a facebook addiction problem.  The funniest thing to me is how many I have introduced to the world of online blogging and networking.  It started with myspace and I told practically everyone I met about it.  Then they got one and I stalked them all.  (good stalking, of course.  I love to hear what people have been up to and see their pictures.)  Then we all switched to facebook.  I'm not moving again.  This is where I'll stay.  Quote me on this because I do NOT need any more distractions in my life, I already have enough.

I've been gone for a while.  Mostly reading other blogs and running out of time to write my own...haha!  I've been doing quite a lot since my last blog post.  I started an Etsy shop where I am selling my bows and bow holders.  I first got the idea to make bows after wondering why I kept paying bukus of money on something that I could just make for myself.  Then, after making about 20 bows, I thought "why am I not selling these like other people, that way I can MAKE a ton of money from people that haven't figured out how to make them yet?"  haha....so there you have it.  I'm selling the bows I make and the holders to clip them on.

4th of July

This 4th of July was pretty uneventful.  It rained the ENTIRE day and rained out the city fireworks display.  Bummer.  Then I found out they are setting them off on November 6th.  What?  What for?  It confuses me, but whatever.  Paige will be older then and she will enjoy it a bit more.  Speaking of Paige, I dolled her up in her "First 4th of July" attire from her aunt Tonya.  She was adorable. 

I thought she was going to be afraid of the loud fireworks that we set off at her uncle Adam's parents house, but she LOVED them!  Infact, she watched the big ones from the ground up and her mouth hung wide open when they popped.  She's seriously the most amazing baby ever.

Aren't they such a cute couple??  They got married in Vegas at a tiny chapel called Chapel of the Flowers.  Technology has blown me away because we got to watch the entire thing live via webcam.  The chapel offers that for anyone who cannot make the wedding.  I thought it was really neat but, of course, wish we could have been there. 


Sewing Machine!Thanks to Ashley at Make It and Love It , I have become quite a crafter. (Don't you love how I've learned how to link instead of pasting the entire web address in my entry?  bahaha!)   She has added a series called the "Bake-a-cake series" and I am in love with it as well.  I've already made fondant and covered cakes with it and decorated the cake with all sorts of different fondant cut outs.  It tastes good too...so thanks Brittany, whoever you are.  I already feel like I know these people and I'm clear across the country from them.

Back to my sewing machine.  Since I'm a beginner, Travis wouldn't let me buy any kind of expensive sewing machine.  So I was like "helloooooo craigslist!!!" and began my search.  I found one that was $40 and in the town 5 miles north of where I live.  I figured it would be sold already, but when I called about it she wanted to meet me that exact moment.  So I got me a Brother sewing machine (Walmart brand) for half of what it goes for at Wally World.  It's only a month old and she said it didn't do the button holes like she wanted so she got her a better one.  Her trash is my treasure, because I love it.  I'm sure I'll name it soon...I haven't reached that point yet.  BUT...I have already mastered the gathering stitch as well as some other stuff.  I can't wait to re-do an old high chair that has been sitting in my garage.  Ashley did it on her blog and I went out and bought the fabric I wanted and the batting as well.  I will have it finished by Sunday and I'll post pictures!  I'm so excited!!!!


BABY SHOWER!!!!

One of my good friends is having a baby girl on August 9th and I'm SUPER excited.  She's naming her Madeline and she's going to be my Paige's best friend!  (or at least we hope so!)

I decided to throw her a baby shower since no one offered.  (I like to let best friends and/or family offer first before I just jump on it.)  When I found out that no one had offered, I jumped at the opportunity.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of my wonderful masterpiece.  It really was an amazing shower.  I had it at my house and people actually asked me if I was a party planner.  I laughed and said "no, why would you think that?!?" and this one lady said "because your shower looks like it has been professionally planned, decorated and the food looks like it's been catered."  HAHA!  Nope lady!  That's just me being suuuuuuuper anal about things being perfect.  I made every single food item from scratch and made a lot of the decorations from ideas I found here on Blogger.  *sigh*  I should just decorate my house from Blogger ideas.  I will probably do that evenutally.  I won't lie.  HAHA!


The Other Things 

I figured I'd end this blog with a couple of Paige pictures.  She's growing up so fast.  She'll be 5 months old on the 15th.  Sometimes I wonder where the time has gone, but I try not to dwell on it because I want to cherish as many moments as I can with her.  She's not mobile (yet) but is getting very close to crawling.  As soon as she crawls we have to get a new stove.  It's a lot story, but basically our current stove isn't insulated and will burn you if you touch it from the outside.  THAT'S not going to work with a baby in the house.  Therefore, it's a win/win for me because my baby will be safe AND I get a new stoooveee!!!  Woo hoo!!!!!

Not so lazy Sunday

hello fellow bloggers! 

I've been busy today.  I started my etsy shop earlier and have been adding stuff to it all night.  I just hope someone will like what I'm selling and buy from me.  I am having so much fun making all of this stuff.  Whenever I find my perfect sewing machine, I am going to make SO much more.  I have so many ideas up my sleeve...it's crazy. 

I decided to dabble a little bit in baking, so I made the fondant from the Make It and Love It blog series "Make a Cake".  I colored it a lavender and baby girl pink color.  Next weekend I will make a cake to practice using the fondant on.  It should be interesting to see if I can actually do this.  If so, I'm going to get super fat from eating so much cake.   

I don't have a lot of time to blog since it's already 10:30 and I don't have Miss P's bath finished.  Does that mean I'm a bad mother?  I sure hope not.  I'll leave you with a couple of pictures of the sweet tooter bug, you know, since I'm talking about her and all!

Today I was sitting down reading blogs, only to realize that I am in WAY over my head. I am so addicted to the "Make it and Love it " blog. It's really out of control. This Ashley really knows her stuff and I dig her style. I want her house. haha! That being said, I've decided that it's time to redecorate my house.  This may take 6 years, but I'm going to do it. Eventually.  I won't hold my breath.  LOL




My friend Melissa just posted about how her husband makes her have garage sales because she keeps a lot of "crap". Well, I'm in the same boat with the exception that my husband has ZERO motivation to help me with a garage sale. He will moan and groan until his mouth falls off! Then I eventually give in and say "forget it"...because I can't watch all of the thieving people alone. I have seriously got to have a garage sale. I wish Melissa lived closer and I'd just have one with her. =)

Busy weekend so far!

This weekend has turned out to be pretty crazy.

LAST NIGHT:

We went to McNellie's to celebrate a friends birthday. He turned 26. (must be nice.) I had two vodka tonics and that was the most I've had since I found out I was pregnant with Miss P. When I stood up it felt like I had drank enough to tranquilize an elephant. I don't think I'll be doing that again!

When we got back to the house, there were a gazillion june bugs in his entry way! It was crazy, so naturally, I had to document the historic moment with my camera. haha!

TODAY:

My sister in law is getting married a week from today in Vegas. I'm really excited for her. Since they decided to get married in Vegas, she wasn't sure if it was okay for someone to throw her a wedding shower. I thought about it for a couple of days and thought "what the heck, she needs one.". But after the time it took for me to decide that I wanted to throw her one, someone else had already taken over. That's alright! I've got the girly party all lined up.

Today my mother in law and I went to Kohl's and we pretty much devoured her registry there. Then it took everything in my power not to buy something for myself. I did end up getting Mr. B two new pairs of shorts for father's day. I ended up giving them to him about 2 hours ago....haha. I can't keep surprises from people, I get so excited to give them their gifts.

Now that we're home, Miss P is konked. She has been asleep for almost 2 hours. That's what happens when she only gets a 30 minute nap from 8:30 in the morning until 2 hours ago...haha! My child loves people, so she will wait until she absolutely passes out if there are people around her. It's funny.

This is Miss P. Right now. As I type this. She is sleeping next to me on the couch. Isn't she sweet?

I guess since it's 7 o'clock I should prepare to feed my family. HAHA! I'll end by saying that even though the weekend is here, it really doesn't feel like the weekend at all. I was up early this morning and I'll be up early tomorrow morning. I will be looking forward to some sleep in my near future. Hope everyone has a great Saturday night. I think it's movie and popcorn night for us. It may take us 4 hours to watch a movie, but at least we get to watch it with the best snuggle bunny on earth. Happy Saturday everyone. =)

Gotta start somewhere!

Soooo....I'm a newbie to this ginormous blog revolution and I'm a little overwhelmed.  I have no idea where to begin.

I guess the first thing I should do is introduce myself, you know, just incase anyone ever reads my blog. :-)

Since my name is so unique and there are like, three of us that share it in the United States, I will refrain from using my real name.  I plan on making this a public blog and as much as I love people, I do NOT love creepers and weird people.  You can just call me Momma B and I will be more than happy with that.  =)

I work full time at a dental office and love my job.  Blogging is something fun I like to do in my spare time, whatever that means.  Who the heck has spare time anymore, especially with kiddos?  LOL!

My life is pretty boring since all I do is work and go home to play with my super awesome daugther. Not that my daugther is boring by any means...haha...I'm just saying that from an outsiders perspective, I'm probably a pretty boring person. I stay in a lot and watch movies or we'll spend time with family doing family stuff....you know the deal.  I am a very family oriented person and I love game nights!  I also love just sitting on the patio with friends and family talking about old times.  I could listen to music all day long, I like it all and it's hard to bore me with music.  I think I passed that along to my daughter!   
My husband is my absolute best friend in the entire world.  We are high school sweethearts.  "Awwwwww!!!"  haha....I know.  It's pretty cool and we have lots of pictures to show our kids of the two of us practically growing up together.  I like that.  He is a gamer and you may hear me go off on some rant about hating his xbox from time to time.  Don't worry, it's just temporary.  I always get over it almost as soon as I get mad about it.

The reason I decided to blog is because I've recently become an addict to crafty "do it yourself" blogs and the numerous amounts of budgeting/saving/thrifting blogs.  I also love reading blogs about redecorating houses, painting, staining, distressing....etc.   I figured I would share my creations with anyone willing to read it.  I probably won't create much, since I don't have a ton of free time, but I will definitely post about my family, the fun things we do and things I do to save money!
